Countdown..........2008

New York is my most favorite place to be. I love the city, but most of all I love all my relatives who live here. My family and I were planning on going to NYC during Christmas, but plans changed and we are here now. We got into the City around 11:30pm on Friday night. I had to work until 2pm on Friday so when I got home from work, we packed the car and headed out. The drive up was okay--it was rainy all the way from VA up to NJ turnpike. We made excellent timing despite the busy traffic and rain. I was able to see my grandfather in the Nurisng home on Saturday. It's sad to see him in the home but he's being well taken care of and I enjoyed my visit with him. When I saw him in September, it took a while for him to process who I was, but this time, he immediately knew who I was. He was a bit confused though, but overall, he's doing well!! I was also able to spend some time with my cousin who is home for semester break from NorthWestern. She and I were able to go shopping (what else would girls do??? haha!) and look for so great After Christmas sales. I love seeing all my cousins and spending a lot of time with them! Family is great, sometimes I wish we didn't live so far apart.

Even though I'm in NY tonight, on New Years' Eve, I'm NOT about to venture into Manhatten to Rockerfeller Center...or even venture out on the road! (in fact, I have never drove in NYC before, but I wouldn't even ride in a car and spend "hours" in possible traffic). It's crazy here tonight, so all of us (my parents, grandma, cousins, and aunt and uncle) are enjoying a quiet evening at the house. We had a wonderful meal and good conversations. I can hardly believe in just a few hours we will be entering into a new year----2008!! It's amazing how time flies. Tomorrow will be 2008. What will I be doing? My parents and I are going to be driving back home to VA tomorrow. All of us has to be back to work on the 2nd. It's been so nice to be able to have my actual holidays off now. I never had that before, so it's a treat to be able to know that you will definitely be off for a holiday so that you can make plans with your family. Time and time again, I thank God for providing me with such a good job where I'm treated well and where I actually find enjoyment and fulfillment in my job. Looking back at 2007, I've realized that although certain things I went through was really hard and I questioned God's sovereignty, it was all in God's timing and plan; and though I didn't see it then I see it now. I didn't understand why back in Jan 2007, my previous job wasn't working well for me and that I needed to leave because of health reasons. I questioned a lot, but now I see God's plan and how this current job is so much a better fit for me and the added blessing of my Dad's workplace is less than 5 minutes away from where I work (and we have the same work schedule!). It's really neat to see what kinds of things a person goes through during the year and how it changes you because God uses it in your life and most of all He uses it for His own Glory.

Many blessings to you this coming new year.
