Intricate Designs

This week I was reminded much about how every thing in our universe is different! The snow fall on Thursday was absolutely gorgeous. I watched as each snowflake fell on my hat, coat, and gloves, and saw how each shape was different. Each snowflake has its own design, and when all of them are put together, it creates a beautiful bed of snow.

Part of my job is watching my clients enjoy various past times. One of my clients LOVES crafts and coloring. She's so precise about her colors, making sure no color goes over the line and each color is the EXACT color what she wants. During the holidays, we were making foam snow man which had a lot of sequence. I absolutely got so frustrated with it that I gave up working with the sequence and started to be creative in creating my very own snowman; this client seemed to enjoy making her own sequence. Each snowman, she made was different, each was beautiful.

I talked to a friend today whom I didn't talk to for a while. One of the many things I shared with her was my experience with my first cruise back in Sept. I told her that one of the favorite things I enjoyed about the cruise was docking in Bermuda and going snorkeling for the first time. I told Debbie that it was so beautiful seeing each fish and coral reefs ect and seeing how even though they are all "fish" each fish was so unique and different. It's nothing like seeing those fish in the tank at a restaurant. You see so many different species--from big to small; from bright colors to dark colors, from "round" looking to "square like". Every one of them were different, every one of them were and are beautiful; and every one of then has its own uniqueness! What a wonder and beauty!

I share this because it was a reminder to me how even people has their own uniqueness; everyone of us has a purpose and everyone of us is special to someone and especially to God. What a blessing and reminder! I work with SO many different kinds of people and each of the clients I work with brings his or her own uniqueness to my job. I guess that is why I enjoy my job so much; I see so many different clients who have their own special needs, and working with each of them requires different creativity and ideas. With this job, I'm reminded daily of how special each person is; how each of them teaches me a different lesson each day, how each of them brings joy into my life and a reason for me to get up in the morning to go to work. The clients I work with knows I understand what it means to be "different" and have a "physical" disability (or for most, a mental). I take my uniqueness as a gift from God and I wouldn't have it any other way.
