Same GREAT taste.............

.................BUT BETTER!
You are probably puzzled as to why I'm putting a picture up of this soda can; WHOLE FOODS 365 ALL NATURAL GINGER ALE. Well, I'll tell you why, and it may not be as crazy as you might think.
Most of you know of my food allergies; basically I have Celiac Disease (and dairy allergies) which means I can't/shouldn't eat things with gluten in them; my side/stomach hurts, it is VERY hard for me to digest it, and well.....you can prob figure it out from there what happens. I can handle very small amounts of gluten (like one small cookie or a quarter of a sandwich), but either way I really need to stick to my food allergy diet, which I'm doing fairly well. The other day while at my favorite store on earth,WHOLE FOODS (only my favorite because they sell tons of gluten free foods, snacks, etc, but all of them are pretty expensive); I decided to browse the beverage aisle, just out of curiosity of what kind of beverage they sell (and they don't sell anything Pepsi, Coke, etc) I looked at their beverages and thought about buying some soda. Just then, a whole foods stock worker came up to me and gave me a list of gluten free foods they carry; I guess he knew I had Celiac Disease when he saw all the "goodies" of gluten free stuff in my basket. He told me to "be careful about what to eat and drink!" and they walked off. I thought to myself "drink????". Then I saw on the soda cans (pic above) 'GLUTEN FREE" (note the writing on top of the can) along with all the stuff they support about all-natural etc. Then I asked the worker and he told me that indeed, yes, soda has gluten in it! For the life of me I can't figure out what part of the soda is gluten! Can you? Is it the corn syrup? fructose? What? [By the way, WF 365 soda is sweetened with cane sugar, no corn syrup or fructose]. I'm a bit stunned and amazed at this new concept I just discovered. When I did drink soda like Pepsi or Coke (which is not as much as one might think), I didn't have an allergic reaction, like I would if I ate a sandwich or ate pasta, but the only reaction I got was something that I thought was caused by the carbonation in the sodas. This time when I drank WF 365 soda, I didn't have that reaction, as bad, which I guess makes sense. Also, on another note; WF 365 brand of soda taste much better; you can, for instances, really taste ginger in the ginger ale.
---so a toast to "healthy" soda drinking :)
---I'm a nerd, I know :) What other person would post such a blog? Ha-ha!
