I've Been............................
....................KEEPING BUSY
Life is busy for me these few months. I think since Caitlyn was born, my parents (the grandparents) and I have traveled up to Richmond about once or twice a month for a visit. I'm sure it helps them out as well as it gives them some time to themselves while we babysit the girls.
Work is indeed busy for me as well. I still enjoy many aspects of my job and an eternally grateful for this job. At times, it's a struggle traveling over the mountain each day, twice a day, but I'm thankful my dad is ready and willing to drive. In a few days, I will be 'celebrating' (not literally) my ONE YEAR anniversary of working at Region Ten. I can hardly believe how time flies in the workplace, especially with a job I enjoy. Although I enjoy my job, I need to say how much I'm looking forward to a vacation. My family and I are headed up to NYC on Friday evening to visit with my grandparents and my other extended family. My sister and her family is going as well, which will be a treat for my grandparents since they haven't met Caitlyn yet.
Physically, I've been doing about the same. No real major changes and I continue to struggle with stomach issues and nausea at times. I haven't seen my GI doctor for over 18 mo or so. He actually told me to just call for an apt any time I thought I needed one but didn't think that the tests had to be taken over for about 2 or 3 yrs. I called him the other day to get a refill for my anti-nausea medication, which he did give me, but also I need to go for a checkup with him on June 18! Whew! Then a few days later, I had to make an apt with my reconstructive surgeon because the overgrown nerve tissues on my cheek has been bothering me and he recommended another visit, which I can predict could be possible surgery this summer or fall. So, June will be doctor visit month for me! Hopefully, both doctors can help me out to feeling a bit better. I've been really fatigue lately and have had some insomnia, but I think it really relates to my physical issues I've been experiencing lately.
I recently joined the gym!! I'm so excited. I haven't joined one since I left H'burg over a year ago! It's great to be back into exercise mode, although I do some on my own, but I really don't have the resources at home to be able to work out like I used to. I miss running on the treadmill, lifting weights, and swimming in the pool and doing my knee exercises in the therapy pool. I've noticed that since I haven't worked out regularly like I used to, my knee that I had surgery on about 2 yrs ago has been giving me problems, so hopefully being back in the mode will help me out!
I've also been busy reading a book by Dr. Cloud called Boundaries: When to say 'YES' and When to say 'NO' I highly recommend it to everyone whether you are single, married, working, a parent, etc. It brings out so many good points and the points are very Biblical and sound. I enjoy reading. In between I'm reading other books as well. What can I say? I LOVE reading and doing Sudoku and just expanding my mind!
Well, that's an update for you all. Sorry for all the blogs about my nieces and not me; I guess I enjoy posting pictures of my nieces to show them off!
SMILES!
