What a wonderful reminder! My mom was telling me a story of what my niece told her the other day. As you all may know, here in VA we've had really HOT and humid days which make good conditions for thunderstorms and other scary storms. Mom said that Miranda told her that she got really scared from storm we had the other day. The thunder and lightening scared her and she cried. Mom asked my niece "what did you do". Mom said Miranda quickly answered and said "I cry to God for help and He helped me!" Mom then asked "did you feel better?" Miranda said "yes". I can only imagine what a conversation this was! Here is a little girl who will be 3 yrs old in two weeks....and the concept of looking to God for help has been impressed upon her by her parents! I'm not sure how much she understands, but I do know when I act scared (just to be silly) she will tell me "don't worry, God is here"! What a reminder to come from a child! Oh, to have faith like a child. God is so beautiful, wonderful, and glorious--One of whom we can entrust everything to! Everything God does is for a reason and we all should pray that our eyes will be opened to his unfailing love; A love that will keep us safe and fearless from the thunderstorms in our lives.

God can use the smallest child to remind us of His love for His people. This has been a reminder for me for a long time. From hearing my niece pray the simplest prayer, thanking God for everyone (as she names them each by name), from my Sunday School children who pray for simple things like "pray that my sister's cell phone will be found and that no one made calls on it". These things we don't think about praying....what a reminder from children that we should come to God as little children as well!

Thank you, Father, for YOU, the cross, and a land where we can serve the Risen Saviour. Thank for dying on the Cross, Thank you for Friends, Family, and little children who reminds us that just as children depend on parents, we should depend on you; just as children ask the simplest request, we need to do the same!

  EIGHT  MONTHS---REALLY? Thankful for Pastors in our Midst----

It's past 2:45 AM and I'm still awake. I've been awake since 9a.m. without any naps which is unusual for me. I've been in my bed since 11pm and I can't seem to shut my mind off.  There's so much going on in my heart and my mind that I can't seem to just "turn off"  It has relatively little to do with the amount of physical pain I'm in tonight nor does it have little to do with upcoming medical procedures.  I just have a lot on my mind.  Some good things; some sad things; so praiseworthy things, some heart wrenching things, etc. Today for all you VA folks, know how blistering cold it was today; I have to be extra careful about not getting sick due to my low immunity; plus with my horrible pain scale today, I just couldn't make it to church.  I wanted to make it to either the early morning service or the Thanksgiving service my church had to night combined with the formal Installation Service of the official (should I say "dubbing??...

In My Need I Seek Your Help.......

There hasn’t been a huge change in things regarding my health since my last update/blog post.    My pain management doctor has tried a different form of non-steroid/non medication injection (for my abdominal pain) that seems to help some (to be explained later in the post).   It may need to take a few tries to see if this treatment works; that is, if I decide if I want to continue this kind of treatment.   As for my head pain and neck pain, my neurologist is doing all he can for now with medication therapy; and working along with my pain management doctor who is holding off other forms of treatment until he can slow down things with my abdominal pain.   In the meantime, I get some relief by going to my chiropractor/kinetic energy doctor in town.   I continue to be grateful for the doctors I have –those who are not giving up on me and trying very hard to try to find a solution to the cause of all this pain.   So far, my pain man...
