Target..............Patroling

Today, after work, I went to Target to go Birthday shopping for my soon to be 3-yr old niece. I had in mind a list of things that was suggested by my sister to get her. Mainly a Dora hide-a-way tent. I encircled the WHOLE Target countless times, going up and down the toy aisle and camping aisle to find this "tent"; no luck! I asked the sales clerk and he said those dreaded words to me "if you don't see it we probably sold out." I know Target carries it since I've seen it there before. I was thinking to myself then "man, I should have brought it when I saw it a couple of months ago and just saved it." But of course, most of us think what "we should have" done when it was too late. I called my sister as I was encircling Target and asked her for some ideas. We talked about 5 min when we couldn't decide what to do so told her that I'll keep looking for something Dora related or Princess related and call her back. So then I came across a Dora lamp, Dora Slip and Slide summer water fun thingy, and a cute Dora pillow. I called my sister back and it was thumbs down for all of the fore mentioned items. So we kept talking and brainstorming as I patrolled Target. The stuff mentioned by her was no where to be found at Target and I had no intention of going to Super Walmart to shop, mainly because I was in no mood to hang out in the busy super Wally world and it was already past 7pm and I've been there already for over an hour! Finally I found a Dora art bundle that contained Dora pictures, Crayons, markers, stickers, etc for really cheap; my sister said to go ahead and get that, so I did, but it seemed so cheap so I told her to help me get something else. So back to the toy section again! My sister changed her mind and said to go ahead and get the Dora slip and slide water fun thing since her kiddie pool got damaged from last winter. My niece has two good friends so my sister said that she's hoping my niece will enjoy the water fun thing, but we'll see! She loves water and splashing other people, so I hope she does enjoy it.

We are headed to Richmond on Saturday morning to have a birthday celebration for my niece. I can hardly wait to see my nieces again and spend time with them! Oh, how I miss them terribly! I will be sure to take pictures of her bday party and of my baby niece as well and share them!

  EIGHT  MONTHS---REALLY? Thankful for Pastors in our Midst----

It's past 2:45 AM and I'm still awake. I've been awake since 9a.m. without any naps which is unusual for me. I've been in my bed since 11pm and I can't seem to shut my mind off.  There's so much going on in my heart and my mind that I can't seem to just "turn off"  It has relatively little to do with the amount of physical pain I'm in tonight nor does it have little to do with upcoming medical procedures.  I just have a lot on my mind.  Some good things; some sad things; so praiseworthy things, some heart wrenching things, etc. Today for all you VA folks, know how blistering cold it was today; I have to be extra careful about not getting sick due to my low immunity; plus with my horrible pain scale today, I just couldn't make it to church.  I wanted to make it to either the early morning service or the Thanksgiving service my church had to night combined with the formal Installation Service of the official (should I say "dubbing??...

In My Need I Seek Your Help.......

There hasn’t been a huge change in things regarding my health since my last update/blog post.    My pain management doctor has tried a different form of non-steroid/non medication injection (for my abdominal pain) that seems to help some (to be explained later in the post).   It may need to take a few tries to see if this treatment works; that is, if I decide if I want to continue this kind of treatment.   As for my head pain and neck pain, my neurologist is doing all he can for now with medication therapy; and working along with my pain management doctor who is holding off other forms of treatment until he can slow down things with my abdominal pain.   In the meantime, I get some relief by going to my chiropractor/kinetic energy doctor in town.   I continue to be grateful for the doctors I have –those who are not giving up on me and trying very hard to try to find a solution to the cause of all this pain.   So far, my pain man...
