Yardwork + Carwashin' = SUNBURN

Yesterday was a busy day for Dad, Mom, and myself. First off, I slept-in until about 9am while my Dad and Mom went to look at an entertainment center for our new TV. They really wanted me to go, but I decided that I wasn't going to go to a stranger's house to look at a piece of furniture. (note: Dad and Mom saw an add in the Waynesboro Bulletin for a "slightly" used entertainment center). Anyhow, as they were out, I just enjoyed relaxing around the house, sipping coffee, watching some I Love Lucy on TV Land, etc. It was a good morning. Anyhow, after lunch we all went out doors to do yard work. Dad mowed the grass while Mom and I weeded and weeded and WEEDED! Man, how fast do weeds grow? I work a strapless shirt so I won't get too hot while weeded (side note: I never wear strapless shirts in public). So, I figured with the nice day, with not so much humidity, I should be ok with a strapless shirt. Well, we weeded for about an hour and a half and then my eyes started to burn due to the dirt and allergens in the air. We were about through weeded, when Mom told me to not worry about finishing weeding since there was only a little left and she'd finished. So, I got started on washing two of the cars: the ones we use the most.) So I washed both cars and that took a good 30-45 min (I'm really picking when it comes to washing cars, I wash every single corner). While washing the cars, I thought to myself "why even wash it because when I'm through it'd be dirty again with all the pollen in the air!) Anyways, I finished washing and as I was doing my final rinsing of the car, I started to feel hot on my back, even with a good breeze sweeping through! I went inside to get ready for a shower and the cool water STUNG my back! When I got out of the shower, I looked in the mirror and there it was my WHOLE upper back SUNBURNED! OUCH. How painful! By then, all three of us were so tired and decided none of us wanted to start the grill and do our own steaks, so Mom suggested we go out to eat.

So aside from the sunburn on my back, it was a good and busy day yesterday. I wonder what next weekend will bring?? Hmmmm.......

  EIGHT  MONTHS---REALLY? Thankful for Pastors in our Midst----

It's past 2:45 AM and I'm still awake. I've been awake since 9a.m. without any naps which is unusual for me. I've been in my bed since 11pm and I can't seem to shut my mind off.  There's so much going on in my heart and my mind that I can't seem to just "turn off"  It has relatively little to do with the amount of physical pain I'm in tonight nor does it have little to do with upcoming medical procedures.  I just have a lot on my mind.  Some good things; some sad things; so praiseworthy things, some heart wrenching things, etc. Today for all you VA folks, know how blistering cold it was today; I have to be extra careful about not getting sick due to my low immunity; plus with my horrible pain scale today, I just couldn't make it to church.  I wanted to make it to either the early morning service or the Thanksgiving service my church had to night combined with the formal Installation Service of the official (should I say "dubbing??...

In My Need I Seek Your Help.......

There hasn’t been a huge change in things regarding my health since my last update/blog post.    My pain management doctor has tried a different form of non-steroid/non medication injection (for my abdominal pain) that seems to help some (to be explained later in the post).   It may need to take a few tries to see if this treatment works; that is, if I decide if I want to continue this kind of treatment.   As for my head pain and neck pain, my neurologist is doing all he can for now with medication therapy; and working along with my pain management doctor who is holding off other forms of treatment until he can slow down things with my abdominal pain.   In the meantime, I get some relief by going to my chiropractor/kinetic energy doctor in town.   I continue to be grateful for the doctors I have –those who are not giving up on me and trying very hard to try to find a solution to the cause of all this pain.   So far, my pain man...
