One Go Around AGAIN
....................so I guess I should be grateful that I got sick BEFORE our upcoming trip to Nags Head (this Saturday thru Tuesday 9/23). Yesterday morning was a bit off day for me because I woke up with a terrible headache and upset stomach but figured it was just a migraine and hoped that my taking my pill would help; I decided to just wing it and go to work. So, Dad and I left earlier than usual yesterday to drop one of the cars at the shop; so after we dropped the car on at the shop, I (driving the other car) scooted over to the passenger side so my dad could drive to work as usual. So when we got to the interstate, I started feeling worse and actually began to feel as if I could vomit any moment. Dad turned the car around and told me he was taking me home, so I got home and called in sick. I got home and went back to bed, told Mom that I was home and why. I slept in until almost 11am; Mom told me that I should go see my Dr since I wasn't feeling well all weekend (I was having a sore throat and sinus pressure). Despite the warm weather outside, I was feeling chilly, but it didn't occur to me to take my temperature; I didn't think I had one since I wasn't feeling hot. Well, I got to my doctor's office and low and behold, I was running a 101 degree fever! All day long I couldn't eat because I was feeling so sick to my stomach. My Dr's verdict was that I had a sinus infection and a stomach bug. So, she gave me some antibiotics and a note to give my supervisor to show I was sick.
As far as my stomach, it still hurts and queezy but not nearly like yeserday. I've been eating food that is "light" (crackers, brooth, juice, etc), and I would be okay. So, I decided to go to work today, which wasn't a bad day at all. I found out that 5 other people were absent yesterday and had the same thing! Last week, two people had the stomach bug, so I guess it's making its rounds at work, but thankfully it only severely affected me for one day; I decided to stay on a light diet until my stomach feels better. (Although, w/ me it's hard to say when I'll feel better since I do have a history and stomach spasms and nausea due to foods and my figuring out food allergies.....do you know how hard it is to keep a food diary every time you eat?)
Back to my sinus infections, my doctor is a bit worried about why I've been sick so much more these past year. Since January, I've had sinus infection and been to see her a 5 times! She really wants me to go back to my ENT doctor which I probaby will sometimes next month; she as well as I am a bit weary with all my sicknesses this year and she's also worried that I've become immuned to the antibiotics, which by the way, I take a pretty strong antibiotic in order to kill the infection!
It's yet another go around with my sinus infection and treating it w/ severe antibiotics (which at times makes me sick) But, I am thankful I am getting treated before our trip to Nags Head and I pray that nothing else comes up before out trip on Saturday. This trip will be a great relaxation for me as I prepare for my upcoming surgery on Oct 15,
