7 Random Things
I have quit a few friends who like to blog; and I read their blogs daily, just so I can keep up with them and know what's going on in their lives. One of my friend's blog has a thing called "7 Random Things about myself." She had posted 7 random things about herself and supposedly the person who reads it should do the same thing, so here it goes.
7 RANDOM THINGS ABOUT MYSELF!
1. I LOVE HISTORY I have always loved History. When I go sightseeing, places I like to visit is historical sight such as the DC. I love reading about history as well as teaching history class at my job place. I'm certainly not one who can yell out a name, date, etc when asked about History, but I just like learning about it.
2. I'M TERRIFIED of mascots or anything in a costumes. Other than the fact that I think Halloween is not biblical, I especially do not like kids or anyone dressing up in scary outfits (gost, gobblins, witches, etc). Even if the mascots are "nice" "people", I still have this fear about them; I'm not sure why. When I was 16 yrs old, we went to Disneyworld and we saw Goofy and Pluto; they came up to me and grabbed me for a hug! I nearly went bonkers. I guess it's the idea that you don't know the face behind the costume. AT JMU, I was even the Duke Club which meant you are likely going to see the Duke Dog mascot; I did well avoiding the Duke Dog to come up to me! I know, it's wierd how I hate mascots or such things like it! Oh, did I mention, I even am more terrified of clowns???
3. I'M ORGANIZED---OR NOT: At work, I'm obsessed about have a neat desk, organized draws, organized charts, books etc. I have a specific place for everything and when someone borrows someting off my desk and not return it to the proper place, it frustates me. When something is due, I'm always on top of it and HAVE to finish the project before working on another one (which is hard for my line of work since you never know what will come up that needs immediate attention). When a job I see needs to be done, I do it, even if it's something that I shouldn't be held responsible for; I just get a bit nervous when soemthing needs to be done and no one does it. However, I'm opposite at the house, sad to say; I'm willing to put off needed work around the house for "another day" Most of the time, I put things in the proper place, but not all the time. Ha-ha!! Go figure.
4. I UNDERSTAND MORE THAN I SPEAK: I'm Chinese. And I would LOVE to learn to speak more Chinese. My grandma's only language is Chinese and since I was a baby, she has talked to me in Chinese. Now, I can barely get by a conversation with my grandma. I can mostly understand what my grandma says, but ultimately, I have trouble speaking Chinese back to my grandma; I can understand most conversations that contain Chinese, but if you ask me to translate sometihng into Chinese....good luck. I probably won't be able to do it! So really, I understand more than I speak.
5. I LOVE TO COOK. I love to cook. I love trying out new receipes and develope my own receipes. My mom and I religously watch the Food Network, mainly Iron Chef, Good Eats, and Rachel Ray. I love exchanging receipes and trying things on my own.
6. I LOVE ELECTRONIC STUFF: I love looking and shopping for things such as computers, iPODs, GPS system, sound systems, etc. I guess I'm one of only a few ladies who like such things. It took me a while to find the "perfect" iPOD and GPS for myself. I like comparing features, prices, etc! It's fun for me to see the newest stuff out there!
7. I LOVE TO SPOIL my nieces. Yep. Almost every time I visit them or they visit us, I have something for them. It's fun to buy things for my nieces and spoil them. I love playing with my nieces and watch them grow. What a joy.
