Doctor's verdict

I went into work this morning at 7am (1-1/2 hrs earlier than scheduled time) to put in some flex hours; mom came and got me to go see. Dr. Gampper for my appointment. He did notice the swelling especially around my nose and upper cheek/lower eye and asked how I was feeling. I told him that I still have quit a bit of pressure and felt uncomfortable and that I was still running a mild fever. He told me to monitor my temperature and to report back to him if it gets over 100 (esp if it reaches 101, which is a bad sign) because they may need to do more investigation into why I developed the infection (this happened one time about 5 yrs ago and I ended up having to go in for emergency surgery to see where the infection is internally). He thinks that somehow the circulation on the right side is low, but not to worry about it because over time and healing it will get better which will increase circulation. I also told him that last night, my operating site was oozing which he said is a good sign that the infection is working its way out. I am to continue with my 2nd round of antibiotics. So for now, my doctor really wants me to take it easy, no strenuous activities (meaning, no exercising or lifting) and I have to go back for another check next month. He told me that the reason I was experiencing pain more this week was that once I felt better last week, he thinks when I increased my daily activity, my body wasn't ready for it; therefore the pain spiked up again; he said it wasn't uncommon, so that's why I am to take it slow and easy for a few more weeks. He also told me to take the rest of the day off work, which I did; but will return tomorrow!
