Protection and Sacrifice

We all have rough days; today was one of many in my life. One of my many many many job description is to help protect the welfare of the clients that I serve. Sometimes I have to intercede between two clients to prevent something from happening. I've read of incident reports from my coworkers of some of my co-workers coming in between two clients and getting injured themselves. It's part of my job--to help them in many aspects of their lives, including protecting them (when you can and when it's safe) from harm. Today I witnessed a coworker of mine struggle to prevent a client from lashing out on another client. This coworker blocked this client and basically went in circles for about 15 sec (which is LONG psychological time when you are waiting for it to end). Thankfully, no one got hurt and everything is fine. It was amazing to me to see the dedication of my coworker and how he didn't think twice before stepping in.....he was willing to get hurt by this client then have another client get hurt......he (in a way) sacrificed himself; he wanted to take the *hit*. He told me it was an "instant" reaction for him. You might wonder why I'm telling you this; well, read on:

This whole ordeal today, which lasted probably no more than 10 minutes until everything calmed down, had me reflect on a spiritual lesson I can gain from this. So many times, I take for granted God's love and greatness to me; I wake up and don't think about the day---I just get ready to go for work. I should start the day by praising God for another good night and for giving me breath in my body. He can take it away at any time--in fact, if it weren't for Christ, NONE of us would be here....why? Because God sent his ONLY SON to DIE FOR OUR SINS! He sacrificed his Son for US so that WE might LIVE! What a beautiful sacrifice! We'd be the one who wouldn't be her because we all desire to die for our sins. Yet we live. Just like my coworker was willing to get hurt himself that have an injured client, Chirst died for us so that we could go on living. I'm learning to depend on Him and remember that it is God who gave us each breath. God protects us from harm; He is our Shield.......without Him, we would be runned down by Satan. We wouldn't even be here if it weren't for God!!! Only by entrusting God fully and having Him to live in our hearts can we experience true protection and love from God.

Thank you, Lord for your daily protection, for Your never ending Love, Your sacrifice on the cross, and Your graciousness. Help me never forget who You are and help me to seek you always and forever.........
