Beauty in Worship

"And God blessed the seventh day and made it hly, because on it God rested from all his work that He had done in creation" Gen 2:3

For the past two weeks, the Pastor Ken has preached on the Sabbath, and the importance of keeping it holy. We are to set aside a day just for God....but that doesn't mean that's the ONLY day to worship God....on the other side, that doesn't me we should take the Lord's day to the extreme and do nothing.....even Jesus healed the sick on the Sabbath! Worshiping Christ should be an every day thing and not just a "one day a week" thought or action. He posed a great question today. Why don't we get together in the middle of the week and sing praises? it's not up to the elders or deacons to start such a thing....we can start it.....we can form groups and begin praise worship nights any day of the week......worshiping God is not just about getting together on Sundays...it's about GOD...PERIOD....EVERY DAY....

Worship is refreshing. Worship is beautiful. It is beautiful for ...

....the EYES Worship is beautiful as you see people sing praises to God or listen to the Word of God being spoken. You can see the hungry hearts longing for the substance...the food...from the Word. And you can really see their heart in the worship and singing.

.... Worship is beautiful to the EARS.....those ears listening intently. I love sitting in front of children during the service. I love seeing them take those "Sermon Notes for Kids" and trying to fill it out...asking their Mom or Dad to help them fill it out....it's a joy to see little ears wanting to listen to the Word being preached.

...it is beautiful for the BODY. Ever get that "I want to dance" feeling when singing? I love being able to just move to the sound of music. We sang "Beautiful One" today and boy did it just lift my spirits up!" Just clapping and moving my body and sing praises to God. ( I tell you it takes A LOT of will power not to do that while I'm on worship team! :) )

---beautiful to the HEART. Words of God, whether it is in the form of preaching or singing can speak to your heart in so many levels. So many times I've come home from church saying "I really needed that" or "that was something that I need to examine my life with." There are times that words to music is so powerful that I can hardly speak or sing. I just need to sit, bow my head and pray through the Words.

....beautiful to the HANDS. You may think "what". Well, today I happened to choose a seat that was near a young lady who was doing sign language for a couple of death people. Now, I've seen her do this before, but it never struck me so much as today. It was amazing how fast she could sign as Ken spoke....or as we sang. I found myself watching her sign (I was listening to Ken, yet I was watching her sign his message). It was so beautiful to watch. I don't know signs, but I know some (in order to communicate w/ my clients)....though I have no clue what she signed (other than what I heard from the message), it was just beautiful (both the movements of her hands and the message)

Worship is indeed.................BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!
