And the journey continues........
.......to full recovery, whenever that will be.
A week ago tomorrow I was discharged from a 14-day stay in the hospital, minus one day when I got discharged "too early" and was told to go back to the ER night after I was discharged.
Recovery has been slow but steady. I have found my days to be good at times and then there are days I'm totally wiped out no matter how little I do or how often I nap. I know sometimes sleeping too much can make one tired, I seriously don't have energy certain days. And those are the days I feel the pain and nausea again. My appetite has not come back 100% and I still eat very simple meals several times a day and very small portions at a time. I am home recuperating and at the same time keep my eyes opened for any potential job openings because as of this coming Tuesday, I will no longer have insurance........... I haven't even thought about COBRA since my workplace isn't returning my form of communication! agh!!
However I am "happy" to say that the xray the GI doctors wanted to be done on my stomach (Gastric Emptying test) was ordered by my PCP who was able to get it done today, while I STILL HAVE INSURANCE!! PRAISE GOD!!!! It wasn't a fun xray but hopefully some answers will be seen and a course of treatment will be decided upon.
Speaking of which, PCP, Dr. Miller decided it was best to put me back on the steroid pills, hydro-cortisone because with my Adrenal Insufficiency, she wanted to make sure I have enough of the cortisol levels in my system; however, I will not be on this for a long time. She said it will be just a short term thing. I can't say I'm too thrilled about being put on even more medications, but am glad Dr. Miller isn't taking this too lightly and really wants to prevent me from getting Addison's Disease which could very well happen; just pray that it doesn't. However, she did explain that the Adrenal insufficiency does call major fatigue (ding ding ding....probably another reason why I'm so tired), so I was willing to give the medication a shot for some time; although I don't know HOW am I going to pay for it next time when I have on insurance! It's all a matter of relying on God. I have a follow-up with her next week.
So, I can used continued prayers. God is infinite and Almighty and will show me through this whole thing.
