Post-Op Checkup
Today was my 11 day post op check up for my orthopedic doctor. Dr. DiDuch explained all the photos to me and told me that there were a lot of frays near my bicep area, but no tear (praise God); however, there was an extra "flap" of tissue around my bicep which made the MRI appear that I had a tear---this is not a bad thing and nothing to be concerned about. Dr. DiDuch did tell me that my rotator cuff WAS torn almost all the way through and that the membranes were very very thin; therefore, he repaired that tear as well and told me that I should still be in a sling for another 5 weeks but can sleep without it. He said that after my 5 weeks I only need to wear it while going out and around big crowds. He is getting me started in Physical Therapy and hopefully I will be getting in very soon when the therapist that has worked with me before. The doctor said to expect pain for a while but that PT should help and he did give me some refills on my Percocet which is great to help me sleep better at night!
Today I also had my Brain MRI. I honestly hate MRIs because it involves needles (for the IV) and I have to be in a small tunnel, which I am claustrophobic. The MRI is to see if any of my tumors has changed over the years (on my brain) or if new ones have developed and to see if it could be a possible cause of all my stomach issues. I have yet to hear the results but when I do, I will pass the word on to you all.
I was also able to stop by my previous work place and just talk to my former manager. She told me how disappointed she was that Human Resources would not let her have any say in my termination and didn't appreciate how it was handled. I told her that right now, my health isn't up to par enough to hold a full time job, but eventually I hope to find a good full time job if one is to come opened. I need to follow doctor's orders to stay low since my energy level is still a bit unbalanced as well as my current health problems.
The next 5 weeks is going to be busy with many medical appointments and testing. Please continue to keep me in prayers.
