Some Answers

This will be only a brief update as I am not having a good day today and feeling very tired and sick to my stomach once again.

Last Friday, May 29th, my primary care doctor order a Gastric Emptying test to be done. I went just because she felt it was a good thing to do; I felt that since the first time I did this study it showed nothing, I was almost positive this time around it would show nothing. However, I was wrong. My doctor's nurse called me today and told me that a normal emptying tests is 100% emptying withing 2 hours (and they only gave me one egg and two toast to eat). My results showed that my stomach only emptied 37% within two hours. What does this mean? Well, it means that my stomach is properly digesting the food before it goes into the small/large intestine at a proper rate; thus, even if I feel hungry, my stomach is still "full" so the more food I eat, the more my stomach can't handle it and it makes a reverse reaction (vomiting). So, I am to follow-up with my own GI doctor, Dr. Argo and Dr. Cohen to see what measures can be taken to help me with this processes. I'm glad in a way that some answers are finally showing up, but disappointed that I still have to undergo several more medical tests. I found out my insurance doesn't run out until the end of June (THANK GOD!!) so that's one less stress and hopefully all my tests can be done before the end of June. So for now, I am sticking to the advice on my discharge papers from the hospital. I'm eating very small amounts of food at a time 4-5 times a day and sometimes take in protein shakes along with my meals as a fluid and extra calories. My weight isn't a big concern to the doctors, even if I have lost 15 lbs in the past 2 months, but they are more concerned with the nutritional aspect of my health.

Please continue to pray as God works with the doctors to help me feel better and get me back to feeling my old self again!
