All Clear
I received the report from my endocrinologist, Dr. Vance. All my blood work came back within normal ranges----praise God! I don't have adrenal insufficiency as once thought and my thyroid levels are working fine. This is good news in many ways. We still don't know what is the sole cause of my stomach issues besides gastroperesis. I guess the doctors are looking into every aspect and avenue to see if there is another cause of my stomach issues besides gastroperesis. This Thursday I go in for my small bowel follow through xray as this test is usually done after one is diagnosed with gastroperesis. I'll have this done at UVA.
My new medications, Domperodine has not come in yet. This drug is not sold in the US so therefore I have to get it from a compound pharmacy / order it from Canada. They've called me twice and told me they haven't received my prescription yet; so I'm not sure what to do since I mailed it out almost 2 weeks ago. Hopefully they will get it soon or my doctor can fax them another prescription. This drug is suppose to be very effective to treat gastroperesis and help my digestion to go along more smoothly.
Overall I'm doing okay. I'm starting a food diary and writing down everything I eat and how I feel after I eat and how I log how much I eat. Hopefully this will help me determine which foods are agreeable with my stomach and what is not; also it will help me monitor my food intake. Now-a days I can't eat as I used to eat. I need to eat smaller servings of food more frequently than large amounts of food at a time (as in eating 5-6 times a day, small portions as compared to 3 times a day regular servings).
My shoulder is healing nicely and I'm almost 7 weeks post op. It still hurts a bit esp when I move it around for physical therapy; but I can tell you that it is MUCH MUCH better than it was when I had surgery in Feb and was still in a great deal of pain mo afterwords! I still have many PT appointments and rehabilitation to go through to strengthen my shoulder and help with movement but I'm definitely improving on many levels when it comes to my shoulder. My follow up with my doctor is next week and then the 3rd week in August I have my ENT/ear specialist appointment. After that, I don't see any UVA appointments for another month or two (yay!)
Thanks again for all of you who keep up with me and pray with and for me through this blog.
