A weekend of feeling "good"

Hannah and I have planned a mini vacation to VA beach back in July. We planned it tentatively knowing that I may have to back out the last minute due to my health conditions. We were blessed to be able to stay with her cousins and not have to make or possibly cancel reservations with a hotel. This past weekend, I felt "good" enough to take that mini vacation. Three days before I was feeling horribly sick and lethargic that I was afraid that I would have to cancel my trip but God oversaw that, and had me feeling functionally better for me to escape for a weekend with 6 wonderful ladies: Hannah and Trube Short, Ruthie, Olivia, and Pat. What a wonderful time we had getting to know Hannah and Trube's cousins and what a great hostess she was. It was wonderful to get to know Olivia and Ruthie, and Pat.

We arrived in Williamsburg around 7pm Friday night the 13th. It was a pretty good trip over to Williamsburg. We all went for a walk once we got there and once we got back to the house and ate a snack, we turned into bed. We got up the next morning early to catch a ferry to take us to the interstate that leads to VA beach. It was fun to ride the ferry and to see all the cars on the ferry.

We got the the beach around10:30 or so and it was already crowded! Mom said that here in Waynesboro it was cool and overcast and I told her in VA Beach it was upper 80s high humidity, and sun was blazing! We all enjoyed the rough waves and cool waters and laying out in the sun.

I got to meet up with my friend, Ang whom I've known since JMU and haven't seen for over 8 years! It was so good to see her again and great that she was able to take time out of her day to come meet me at the beach!

We left the beach around 6pm and got on the Ferry back to Williamsburg around 7:30 or so; on the ferry on the way back we saw beautiful sunsets:

Truly amazing and beautiful sunset!

The trip itself was very fun and I'm so glad I was able to go, despite some minor setbacks on my part with my stomach issues. But it was resolved with medications, rest, and eating light foods. Despite my feeling "not so good" after the beach, in all I had a wonderful time and my sickness wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been...PRAISE GOD!

I'm so thankful I was able to spend time with friends and get to know and meet new friends. It was truly a lovely weekend to be able to get out and enjoy God's beauty in His Creation and beauty in the friends He puts in our lives.

Don't think my stomach issues has been resolved because I still have plenty of hard/rough/bad days; I was blessed to have an overall "good" weekend to enjoy---no stress, no worries, just enjoying friendship of other Godly ladies. I wish all my days were just as "good" as the weekend of my mini-vacation.
