Week two of school

I've been behind on blogging because I've been concentrating on schoolwork. Not to mention, more doctor appointments and working as a substitute day care worker when needed.

I'm really enjoying my classes. It's intense and rough, but I'm excited at the same time. I have a lot of work a head of me to do. Here are some of my books and supplies for school:

My 14 page syllabus!!!!!!! yikes! You can imagine how much stuff / assignment I have. I have online quizzes and tests that needs to be proctor, so I'm seeing if the library will help me out with it!

MY ABA handbook

my lifeline. It has all the handouts one would get if you were physically in the classroom; it's also a lot of extra reading curriculum put in there as well.

MY ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis I) text book.....a lot of chapters to read! I have 7 chapters to read by 2 weeks; one paper already down and ready to go for the due date next week.

My DVD set---of 6 sessions/lessons. That's not a lot for one semester, but the amount of work involved in between lessons is much----overwhelming. Graduate studies online is rough, but I'm glad I have "live" teachers to hear and learn.

....and of course my laptop computer needed to send in reports and keep in contact with professors and other students. You can also see part of our TV and DVD player which I use to watch my lessons. The computer screen is unclear but is my home page called 'Angel" for online schooling. It's very similar to JMU or BRCC's blackboard. One can communicate anything on this website.

This course is very intense. It will go from now (Fall '10 to next fall ('11) straight through, meaning, spring '11, summer '11, and fall '11. I hope to be able to go for my license by 2012 and would love a job working with children with autism and using ABA as a means to help them.

I'm trying to get ahead of schedule only because at times I do not (or will not know ahead of time) when my health issues flare up again. I want to try to stay ahead of the game as much as possible and whenever possible. Right now I have decided to concentrate on school rather than a full time job; I wouldn't mind a part time job but I know that my full time job will be rough along with this intense schooling. Please pray that I can get through this both physically and emotionally!
