Another round of PT
About 4 weeks before Christmas, around the time I returned from my Caribbean cruise, I started to have left shoulder pain again. Remember the shoulder that had to go through 2 operations by 2 different surgeons before it was corrected? I'm not sure what spiked this pain. It was pain so awful that it would hurt to extend my arm straight to the side or even lift up a simple 2 liter bottle of soda. The pain radiated down my hands and made it numb. I wasn't happy at all. (oh, and a side note, a long with this pain, I had a horrible head a chest cold that I've finally gotten over). Also along with my shoulder pain, my stomach was flaring up (and continues to flare up) as well as my chronic pain in my back and legs. I've thought to myself "could this get any worse?".
I thought about calling a friend of mine who first saw me when I came in for the shoulder evaluation; but decided that with the holidays and all I didn't want to bother him, plus I figured he would probably suggest to go back to see my orthopedic doctor anyhow. My other friend who is a PA told me it is possible to retear a rotator cuff and that made me unhappy. So, taking her suggestion, I decided to call Dr. Diduch. Praise God that the day I called him, he was able to fit me into his schedule 5 days later! My fear was another tear......my prayer was that it wasn't anything to worry about.
Today was my Orthopedic appointment. Dr. Diduch ran a bunch of strengthen tests and read back on my post operative report from 7 months ago. He told me he was positive that it was NOT a tear and was unsure why I have suddenly regressed again. He thinks that perhaps I'm being too careful with my shoulder; therefor, by not using it I have actually weakened my shoulder which can cause pain as well. He did say I'm a bit stiff in that area and suggested me to start PT again. In many ways it was music to my ears that it was not anything too serious; yet I am not looking forward to resuming PT again. It's rough on me physically (not just in the affect area but over all). I don't, however, have to see him again unless things get worse. I am praying that PT does work. My evaluation is on Jan 13th.
Please, friends, continue to pray for me. with my stomach issues/flare ups, chronic pain, and now having to undergo PT, I'm worn out. I'm really praying hard for a better year this year and that it won't be as stressful medically as it was last year. Also, I have a follow up with my GI doctor on Jan 18th---please pray that the doctors can continue to work with me and an effective way to figure out what ways they can help me relieve my stomach flare ups and nausea that occurs frequently. Lately, it has been rough on my stomach and finding foods that doesn't upset me is a chore in itself.
I wish you all a great New Year filled with many blessings from God, love, and happiness.
