Trying to Cling
As most of you all know, I've struggled with health issues all my life. Recently in the past 3-5 years I have had stomach pains that has left me unable to work; I can barely do much of anything without feeling the affects it has on my body. It's been quit depressing. MY GI doctor has done all he could over the past 5 years and with all of the GI tests coming back negative (except for the gastroperesis coming back positive) as well as most of the medications not working, the GI doctor was ats the end of the road. The only thing the GI doctors thought it could be was over active neuro-pathways leading to and into my stomach area They referred me to the pain management clinic at UVA. UVA is really the only hospital I would go to do get anything major done. I've been a patient there for 32 years and will continue to be a patient there.
Today I saw my pain management doctor, Dr Johnson. She seems very nice and very willing to help. It was agreed that I was showing all the symptoms of a person with overactive neuro-pathways.... which is NOT to be confused with muscular pain or fibromyalgia. The doctor there is putting me on a new medication which is suppose to help alleviate pain by calming down the nerve receptors. The only thing with this medication is that I have to start to slowly work my way up to the desired dosage for the day; it will take a month to get to that; however, that doesn't mean I won't see a difference.
I also tried to apply for financial assistance through UVA; however, due to my investments over the years while I did work, that has prevented me from even being eligible for any assistance. Believe me, it's not much investment at all and the UVA requires one to be under $1500 to get financial assistance. I'm currently looking in disability which will take time to process (as another hurdle has come upon me as well when I did it back in August). I'm also working with someone to help me look into temporary insurance.
It's been a frustrating and discouraging road; but I'm trying hard to cling to Christ and His Promises.
Please continue to pray:
--that the new medication would work or that the doctors would find a good medication combination
--that I will be able to find good affordable health insurance
--that my SSDI paperwork will go smoothly
--That I will remain trusting and clinging to Christ and that this does not wear me down
--continue to pray that my days of pain and nausea will not wear me down.
Thank you all!
I've becoming overwhelmed and stressed; I'm trying very hard to cling to Christ, knowing He has plans for me.
Please pray for:
-things to be worked out financially
