Friendships, Silliness, Adventures of Last Week
Last week (6/16-6/23), I spent the week with my sister and my nieces since my brother in law had to go on a business trip to Las Vegas for a business trip. Miranda is doing well after her surgery 3 weeks ago, although there are still times she has pain and needs to lay down and rest. She had her 8th birthday on the 17th. She had two of her best friends over for cup cake.
The two girls in the middle belongs to Katie, She is a friend of my sister and me. Interestingly enough, Katie grew up with us in the same church long time ago. God in his providence brought my sister and her back together in Richmond and they became good friends again. I've gotten to reconnect with Katie as well through Facebook, email, phone, and texting. What a wonder modern technology is! Katie's parents, Jim and Karen, goes to Covenant Presbyterian as well Katie'sr sister, Nicki (along with her loving husband Jim and their children) . Jim and Karen are dear couple who has known me since I was probably 2 or 3 years old. Karen as my kindergarten teacher as well. Time flies. Sorry for the sidetrack
Then one day my niece Caitlyn wanted to play Doctor, so we decided that she was going to be the doctor, I was going to be the nurse, and Miranda (who was laying down because she needed to rest) was going to be the patient. We ended up having this conversation:
Caitlyn: look here's a button I found on her back....she has button-nitis! she needs a button-nectomy (the button was on the bed, that fell off of one of Miranda's toys, I think)
Me (thinking....where in the world a 5 year old would know and use TWO words like that): "oh no! We need operate!
Miranda: giggle, saying "stop you are tickling me!!! (we are barely touching her)
Caitlyn: no, we need to operate NOW, NURSE! Miranda is still giggling hard, barely touching her)
Caitlyn: whew, we got in just in time, patient Miranda, we found ONE THOUSAND buttons (BIG EMPHASIS) . good thing you had that button-nectomy just in time!
What do you think? I think Caitlyn is cut out to be a doctor.........Hmmmm
While "arguing" who loves who more........
Caitlyn: I love, you, Yee-yee
Me: I love you, More
Caitlyn: No way, I love your More-er; to the moon and back
Me: Nope, I love you the MOST-EST ; to the moon and back
Caitlyn, yee yee, no one can love the most-est. only GOD can love the MOST-EST
maybe, she'll be a theologian?
....and the BEST for last. Miranda got a pet Guinea a couple weeks before she had surgery. She named her Mia Ham. She loves this pet; however, she doesn't like to hold her because the guinea pig pooped and peed on her one time. Caitlyn doesn't like to go near the pet and my sister doesn't seem to fond of it either. Patrick, Miranda's dad, had been taking care of "Hammy". He helps spot clean her area and then do full cage clean about once every other day or every two days. Before he left on his vacation, I teased Miranda who was going to take care of Hammy's cage when Daddy was gone. Well, Miranda looked at me with confusion and then looked at "daddy" and then "daddy" looked at me and said "Yee-Yee is!" (my Chinese name for younger aunt). *sigh*. I was in for it. I said, "yeah, right, okay". I actually wasn't against the idea. I didn't really think it was a big deal to handle a cute little guinea pig (although it was stinky! haha)

There were days/times I didn't feel well, but I did enjoy time with my family and friend, Katie. Can you tell by the pictures?
