Autumn

I was going on a walk today with one of my clients. I rarely walk with them, but today, he seemed as if he needed to release some energy. We walked around the path the encircles my office; I saw somethings wonderful---I felt something wonderful; I felt the crispness of the fall weather; the soothing breeze; it was neither cold or hot---it was perfect weather! I saw leaves falling and turning the red, orange, and brown colors. My client kept picking up the leaves--he loves picking stuff off the floor; I love seeing the blanket of different colors beginning to cover the ground. I loved seeing the trees turn color; I saw flocks of birds flying in one direction or huddling together in one particular spot. It reminded me of the wonders of God's creation and the beauty around it. It reminded me of God's handiwork...how can anyone deny there is a true and living God who controls every aspect of the world....from the leaves forming on the trees as green leaves to turning t...

Refreshed and Relaxed!

My parents and I enjoyed a WONDERFUL weekend in NC! We left Saturday morning and returned to VA on Tuesday. On the way to OBX, we stopped by my sister's house to pick up something and ended up staying there until after lunch, and got to OBX around early dinner time. It was a beautiful trip down and it was fun to use my GPS system. I can post so many pictures but for now, I will post the highlights from each sight we visited. The weather was good all days; very mild--not cold or not hot; but definitely not warm enough to go swimming but either way it was just fun the time we were able to go the beach. Here are some highlights from each of the sights we visited. The only pictures I don't have is when we visited Fort Reliegh the Lost Colony --it was fun to go there and learn history and all; I'm such a history buff but I think most of my excitement in the trip was the historical sites. So enjoy the pictures and the captions! (pics are in order of our trip) fr...

One Go Around AGAIN

....................so I guess I should be grateful that I got sick BEFORE our upcoming trip to Nags Head (this Saturday thru Tuesday 9/23). Yesterday morning was a bit off day for me because I woke up with a terrible headache and upset stomach but figured it was just a migraine and hoped that my taking my pill would help; I decided to just wing it and go to work. So, Dad and I left earlier than usual yesterday to drop one of the cars at the shop; so after we dropped the car on at the shop, I (driving the other car) scooted over to the passenger side so my dad could drive to work as usual. So when we got to the interstate, I started feeling worse and actually began to feel as if I could vomit any moment. Dad turned the car around and told me he was taking me home, so I got home and called in sick. I got home and went back to bed, told Mom that I was home and why. I slept in until almost 11am; Mom told me that I should go see my Dr since I wasn't feeling well al...

Directions

............... Which way to the nearest university? That has been the question I have been presenting to myself for the past few months. I love to learn and would love to learn more to enhance my credentials for my job. I love my job and each day I work, I learn new things and new ways to tackle issues. One of those issues is dealing with clients with behavioral issues. We meet at least twice a month with our behavioral psychologist to come up with plans in order to best serve the clients with "issues". It's fun to hear of new ways, get trained, or even share your own thoughts and ideas and have the behaviorist agree with those ideas. After graduating from JMU, I continued with some grad courses there just to further my education and knowledge. Two of those courses focused on Emotional/Behavioral Education and Applied Behavior Analysis. Not to exalt myself, but I excelled in those courses to the point that my professor even used my papers and "plans...

My New Toy!!

okay, so call me a weird girl, but I'm all about electronic stuff. I LOVE my MP3 player I got earlier this year. For my birthday, my parents ordered me a GPS system: Garmin nuvi 350 I am probably the worse person to give directions to or even find places. I got lost so easily and when I get lost, I get nervous and then it messes me up so badly that I tend to just freak out; I'm not so bad when I'm driving with someone because at least someone else can help me find places, but given the fact that my job requires me to drive around a lot, having someone else in the car with me that knows where to go is highly unlikely. My dad and mom are okay with directions and getting to places, but we often have to pull over somewhere to ask for direction despite the fact we have written directions on our hand. So in lieu of this, my folks decided to buy me a GPS system in hopes that it will help me calmly find places on my own. ALSO, we are headed to Nags head NEXT SATURDA...

Joys from my 3-yr old niece

Image
This past Sunday, August 31, 2008, I turned 29 yrs old. This may sound silly but I woke up that morning a little sad because I thought to myself "man, only one more year til I turn 30!" YIKES! How time flies. My sister and her family came for a visit for the Labor Day wknd which happened to also be my birthday. My niece made her bed on the floor of my room where my parents put a mattress and my niece Miranda wanted my mom to sleep with her on the floor so I had company in my room for the weekend which was nice. Sunday morning, though I was "sad" my niece came and woke me up and said "Yee Yee, Happy Birthday". That put a big grin on my face as I remembered all the blessings and joys that my nieces bring to me. A few minutes later she came up to me and said "do you know who's birthday is today?" I, playing dumb with my niece, said "I have no clue, baby. Who's birthday is it" as I looked puzzled at her. She re...
