Reminiscing ..............

Image
Beautiful pink sand beach at "NINE BEACHES" My wonderful cousin, Anita and myself My cousin Annie and myself I know all of you could be tired of hearing about my first cruise to Bermunda to celebrate my cousin's wedding! Today, she finally mailed me a dvd with most of the pictures from Bermuda and it made me remember what a beautiful day it was and beautiful wedding and cruise! I'd love to go back again if I can....that is, if I have the resources and time off. Funny thing, though. I got a vocher from the cruise line for a free two day cruise to Bahamas. They say there is no catch, but I'm not too sure. But then again, I'm wondering if it had to do anything with my accident while on board the last day there. See, I slipped and fell and twisted my ankle! It was quit and adventure to get me to the infirmiry on board...which was NOT fun at all! Mom was there with me so that was good; it was one of those nights I decided to venture out to the decks w/ my mom and...

Intricate Designs

This week I was reminded much about how every thing in our universe is different! The snow fall on Thursday was absolutely gorgeous. I watched as each snowflake fell on my hat, coat, and gloves, and saw how each shape was different. Each snowflake has its own design, and when all of them are put together, it creates a beautiful bed of snow. Part of my job is watching my clients enjoy various past times. One of my clients LOVES crafts and coloring. She's so precise about her colors, making sure no color goes over the line and each color is the EXACT color what she wants. During the holidays, we were making foam snow man which had a lot of sequence. I absolutely got so frustrated with it that I gave up working with the sequence and started to be creative in creating my very own snowman; this client seemed to enjoy making her own sequence. Each snowman, she made was different, each was beautiful. I talked to a friend today whom I didn't talk to for a while. On...

Limitations

Most of you all know my limitations in my diet. No gluten, no beef, no pork, no tomatoes, no complex sugars, no egg yolks, etc etc. (I don't have the energy to list them all!). If I eat chicken, to ensure I don't nauseated, I have to eat organic chicken because it ensures that the chicken wasn't given hormones or wheat products to eat! Just last week, I finally got over whatever it was I had. I wasn't or hadn't been feeling well for over 6 weeks, just after Thanksgiving. It was thought at first that I had sinus infection and bronchitis, but none of the antibiotics helped much. I mean, I am sure I didn't have it, but I still wasn't feeling not like myself. My stomach problems started flaring up again and I was constantly sick to my stomach and getting migraines . I finally decided to go back to get tested for more allergies to see if that was the trigger. Lo, and Behold! I'm allergic to dairy now! Grrreat I thought. I'm a l...

Excitement

It's a Monday. And Mondays are tough; well, sometimes they can be. But this is the first Monday I've worked since the holidays. Most all of the clients were back from their holiday break and/or recuperating from a cold or flu. To me, it was a pretty exciting (as in "manic") Monday. First off, I was placed in a "in-promptu" class my managers wanted to try out called "Public Safety". I was chosen to be the first teacher to teach this class (every three months we rotate classes). I got into work and saw "Becky-----"public safety class". I'm thinking "ooookay, it'd been nice to give me a WARNING like last week so I can prepare this class." I decided to just go with the flow since I knew the group of clients I had were very talkative and can adjust to just about anything. So basically, I just talked about a broad overview of what public safety is, how we can stay safe, what kinds of people are out there...

Change

One of my favorite past times is to work on scrap booking. I don't know why, but it's a one of the ways that helps me relax. I really enjoy doing such things. My most recent scrapbook was on my (and my family) recent trip/cruise to Bermuda. It's fun to go back to it and remember all the fun times we had (even though it was just less than 4 months ago). I even enjoy scrap booking for other people. I have done a scrapbook for my mom as well as my friend (actually, my niece's other grandma). Both were about my niece and how much she's changed throughout the past years. It's so fun to see how my niece has changed from when she was just one day old til now---a very energetic 2-1/2 yr old! Someone asked me a question on Friday which I had asked of me several if not many times in my life. It was the infamous question of "do you ever which you can change your appearance" or the other side "Do you ever wish you looked differently?"...

Countdown..........2008

New York is my most favorite place to be. I love the city, but most of all I love all my relatives who live here. My family and I were planning on going to NYC during Christmas, but plans changed and we are here now. We got into the City around 11:30pm on Friday night. I had to work until 2pm on Friday so when I got home from work, we packed the car and headed out. The drive up was okay--it was rainy all the way from VA up to NJ turnpike. We made excellent timing despite the busy traffic and rain. I was able to see my grandfather in the Nurisng home on Saturday. It's sad to see him in the home but he's being well taken care of and I enjoyed my visit with him. When I saw him in September, it took a while for him to process who I was, but this time, he immediately knew who I was. He was a bit confused though, but overall, he's doing well!! I was also able to spend some time with my cousin who is home for semester break from NorthWestern . She and I w...

Blessings and Lessons from 2007

I hope that your year has been great, filled with blessings, joy, peace, and love. It’s amazing how things in life teach us lessons about faith in God and trusting Him for EVERYTHING! This past year has surely been one of those years that I’ve learned to really kneel and pray, and put all my faith in God and Him Alone. Most of you know that in January, I no longer worked for Pleasant View Inc in Harrisonburg, VA. After almost 7 years as an employee there, I still didn’t feel as if I were fulfilling what I was called to do. In short, the job started to be clear that it was not a good match for me. There were so many different views on things; my stress level sky-rocketed that I began to get sick more frequently, having persistent and increasing stomach issues, and weight loss. After talking to my folks, and leaving PVI, I decided to move back in with my folks and pray for a better job opportunity and a chance to get physically better as well as emotionally better. I looked for new jobs ...
